So for all of you who have read my previous article, you know I went around for errands today and one of my stops was to do some minor shopping at the local Las Vegas Salvation Army store. This was my first time at this store, but I was delighted to find some amazing accessories that I have been in search for, for quite some time. My first guilty pleasure was a never been worn pair of b.o.c clogs. Yes, never been worn and in my size! I do not know about you but I think I am one lucky girl for finding them. I know they are a bit old school and the style targets more for older people, but I love them, and I cannot wait to wear them in fall ( it is way too hot in Vegas for me to be wearing these amazing shoes).
Lastly for all my acessory purchases today, is a 100% hemp beige backpack. I have been looking for a simple back pack for some time now, and today I found one that fits my style quite well and also happens to be organic. Jackpot! I also purchased a few bottoms at the Slavation Army store, but I will leave those for my later articles on my outfits. I do not want to share all the amazing treats I got for myself and for you, so you will all just have wait patiently for my next installment.
Before I let you all go, I thought I would give you guys a little information on Salvation Army and what they do, and why you should go and support your local Salvation Army Store. They are a religious charity program that helps everyone from the homeless, to families that have lost everything they own from natural disasters, and people that need a fresh start from their violent pasts. I try to be as active as possible in the charity department, and the salvation army happens to be one of the groups which I support. There are Salvation Army stores in every big city or you can always go on to their website http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/www_usn_2.nsf/vw-local/Home for where to find locations near you. They sell everything from clothes, to furniture, to house wear, and even movies and books. Everything you purchase through them helps someone in need that comes to them. So for all of you fashionistas out there, supporting your local Salvation Army store lets you find some, one of a kind vintage pieces and also gives you an opportunity of being charitable, and helping those in need. Oh and did I mention that everything there is very affordable. I only spent $12 on five things; pretty good deal if you ask me.
